Teaching Arts in a Diverse World: Pedagogical Reflections in a Context of Diversity

by Liza Petiteau - UQAM

In art schools, the increasing diversity of student profiles invites a re-examination of pedagogical practices to better meet needs in terms of learning, support, and evaluation.

This training proposes a reflective approach articulating principles of equity, lived experiences, and teaching practices. Based on benchmarks from educational sciences and inclusive approaches in higher education, a collaborative and engaging activity will highlight the plurality of perceptions and interpretations in a learning context.

A reflective review will allow participants to identify some pedagogical levers, discuss field tensions, and discover concrete tools to enrich their practice. The workshop aims to initiate the development of a critical, flexible, and sustainable professional stance, conducive to dialogue in artistic teaching practices.

Managers, Transform Your Enrollment Challenges into Influence Opportunities!

By Michèle Glémaud

In a constantly evolving higher education landscape, attracting the right students requires much more than a simple admissions campaign. This exclusive training for ADÉSAQ will equip you to build a powerful, targeted, and sustainable recruitment strategy.

In a context of strong competition and constant evolution of student paths, recruiting is no longer enough; it is necessary to attract, engage, and convert. This training aims to support managers in developing a thoughtful, structured, and adapted recruitment and engagement strategy specific to their institution’s realities. The workshop, resolutely anchored in practice, offers a collaborative space focused on the realities and needs of each participant. Key takeaways include concrete, transferable, and immediately usable tools upon your return to the office.

The program includes an exploration of student profiles (personas), an analysis of the role of influencers, and support from specialized literature to build a high-performing model for recruitment, admission, and conversion. At the crossroads of leadership, strategy, and practical applications, this training will give you the keys to make student recruitment a real lever for impact.

Lunch and Conference

Teaching to Reduce Pressure

by Marianne Berthelette from the Centre psychologique pour artistes

This space for reflection and discussion offers concrete ways to alleviate the pressure experienced in artistic teaching contexts, for both teachers and students. Through the sharing of sensitive and creative pedagogical methods, we will explore how to support free expression and autonomy of artists in training, while taking into account the realities and constraints of existing school frameworks. The aim is to explore how certain approaches can foster artistic expression, while coherently fitting within the guidelines specific to teaching.
