About
the school

As a school and studio, the MCCT encourages initiation, experimentation, research and continuing training in textile creation. It works with professionals, semi-professionals and amateurs.

The MCCT participates actively in the production, exhibition and promotion of contemporary textile creations through exhibitions, conferences and gatherings.

Qualified instructors, accomplished in applied arts and textile creation, teach traditional methods alongside the latest textile construction techniques. Instructors working with the Montréal Centre For Contemporary Textiles help students develop their creativity, expertise, and skills in the use of specialized software and equipment for weaving and stitching. Current embroidery, sewing, dyeing and felting techniques are also included in the program for the students and the public.
