About
the school

Founded in 1966 by Ludmilla Chiriaeff at the request of Québec’s ministère des Affaires culturelles, the École supérieure de ballet du Québec is the reference in Quebec for professional training and education in classical dance. Thanks to its affiliation with Les Grands Ballets Canadiens, many of its graduates go on to shine with this major company, while others pursue their careers in classical or contemporary dance with the greatest companies here and abroad.
The school’s mission is supported by the Ministère de la Culture et des Communications du Québec and Canadian Heritage.
The École supérieure also offers a professional dance teaching program (AEC), training in musical accompaniment for pianists and a variety of recreational courses for adults, children and teens.
